STA 2023

Introduction to Statistics I – Summer A 2008

Lab grades, remotes points, exam 2 grade, total points and final letter grade are posted.

The average of Exam 2 was a 70.
The percentage needed to get a particular grade was lowered by 1 percentage point.
For example, in order to get an A, you needed 88.5% of the points or 283 points.

As a note these grades are final. Negotiation is not appropriate.

Determining Remote Score:
There has been a little confusion about how the classroom
participation points work. So, I want to clarify.
There will be an undetermined number of questions this semester.
You can figure between one to three questions per day except exam
days. I will also drop the lowest 10% of the questions. I then take
the percentage of points out of the total points and multiple it by 20.
The result is the classroom participation points.
So, suppose that there was a total of 40 questions for 80 points. I will
then drop 10%. So, there would be a total of 72 points, 36 questions.
I will then calculate the percentage of questions that you got right out
of the 36 questions. Suppose that you got 90% correct. This would
mean that you get 20*0.90 = 18 points to go towards your classroom
participation points.
