Take
Quiz 1. Quiz 1 runs from Monday, Sept. 1st until Thursday, Sept. 4th
11:59pm. Quiz 1 covers material from lectures on Wednesday, August 27th
and Friday, August 29th. This will be Chapter 1 Section 1 through
Chapter 2 Section 2.

Remember:
EC Quiz 1 ends on Monday, Sept. 1st at 11:59pm.

to Lab. In lab, you will meet your TA and learn how the labs will work for the
rest of the semester.

credit. The extra credit quiz will run until Mon. Sept. 1st 11:59pm.

How the course is
structured:
Each STA
2023 section has two main parts: a lecture and a lab component.
Lab: Each student must attend each lab in
person at their scheduled time. This is the one period section listed on the
course catalog. You will be required to attend this section.
Lecture: There
are two ways to watch the lecture: live or on streaming video. You may do
either regardless of the section for which you are registered.
• The live
lecture will be held 9th period MWF in NPB 1001. You may also attending the
taping during 7th period in Norman G520 (Seating in Norman G520 is limited to
the first 25 students; however, there is available seating most days.)
• The online
lecture will be posted on this webpage for the first couple of weeks of the
semester. Please check back here on the first day of classes. The lecture will
appear here at the end of the day.

Scientific
Calculator that has some basic statistical functions: mean and standard
deviation. Many inexpensive calculators (around $10 to $15) have these
functions; check the manual or look for the following symbols: x-bar and either
s or sn-1. All of the more expensive
graphing calculator have them as well, but it is not necessary to buy one of
them for this class.
