Quality Control Charts: p Chart

Suppose that you are monitoring the amount of defective AAA batteries that are made by one of Duracell’s production lines.

Enter Data:

In C1, enter the number of defective batteries found on the line. In C2, enter the number of batteries that were sampled.

p Chart:

1. To do a quality control chart for proportion, go to Stat, Control Charts, Attributes Charts, p Chart.
2. You should get the following screen.

3. Enter the data, C1, into the box for Variable.
4. Enter C2 for Subgroup size. Since all the samples are of the same size, you could also just enter 30.
5. Then click o.k. The chart below should appear.
