Determining what you need on the final in order to get the grade that you want.

To find the lab and quizzes grade total (L&QTotal), take the highest 17 scores from the ten quizzes, 10 labs and 1 swine flu quiz. (It is possible to earn up to 102. Anything earned above 100 is extra credit. (The two additional points.) Extra Credit Quizzes are not included in the L&QTotal, but in the total for the course.

To find your total points before the final, Total_before_Final=Exam1+Exam2+EC1+EC2+L&QTotal.

To determine the number of points that you need on the final to get a particular grade, use the chart below to determine the number of points needed.

Q10:6

Swine Flu Quiz = 6

L&QTotal = 6+6+6+6+6+6+6+5+6+6+6+6+6+6+6+6+6=101

Total_Before_Final= 80+74+2+2+101= 259

I want a B, which requires at least 320 points.

Points needed on final = 320-259=61. So, I must make at least a 61 on the final.

Final Grades will be determined by TotalPoints= Exam1+Exam2+EC1+EC2+L&QTotal+Final.
