Exam 3 Information

 

When? The Exam is on Monday, December 10th from 7:30 to 9:30 am (IN the MORNING!) 

Where? The class is broken up by section into many rooms on campus. Room Assignments are posted here.

Policies:

·         No student will be allowed into the exam room after 8am.

·        No student will be allowed to leave the exam room before 8am.

·        Exam Answers will be posted in Sakai by the end of the day Tuesday December 11th.

Format: The test will be 33 multiple choice questions worth 3 points each.  This totals 99 points.

One point will be given for bringing your ID to the exam as well as filling in your name,

UF ID # and test code on your scantron correctly. 

What does it cover?

·        page 77 – 119 in the handbook

·        Chapter 9 through Chapter 10 Sec. 4 in the textbook.

You will need to bring:

·        Pencil(s)

·        Picture ID

·        Calculator (scientific or graphing* o.k.)

·        *Storing notes on a graphing calculator is considered cheating and a violation of the honor code.

·        You cannot use your cell phones including i-phones during the exam for any reason.

I will provide:

·        Formula  Sheet

·        Z table

·        T table

How to prepare:

·        Do the homework. Three of the homework problems will appear on the test.

·        Review old quiz questions.

·        Review your notes.

·        Do the practice problems.

o   These practice problems are posted on the sidebar in Sakai.

·        Make sure that you understand both concepts and calculation. Both will appear on the test.

Reviews:

·        In Class on Wednesday, December 5th: I will go over the list of important ideas for the exam. The list of topics is posted on the sidebar in Sakai.

·        On Tuesday, December 4th , I will record a Question and Answer Session from 11:45am to 1:45pm.

o   Please submit your top three questions by Monday, December 3th  5pm via email to mmeece AT stat.ufl.edu.

o   The questions may come from homework questions, quiz questions, notes, or the practice questions.

o   I will go over the most commonly asked questions first and continue to answer questions until I run out of questions or time.

o   This will be recorded so that everyone can watch it. This will be similar to the regular lecture posting.

o   You are welcome to attend the recording. The recording occurs in Norman G520.

Tutoring Room:

Appeal:

If you wish to appeal the grading on the exam, do this by email. Clearly explain what you are trying to appeal and why you think that you deserve more points. Make sure that the email contains your real name, and is sent from your gatorlink email account (@ufl.edu). You should make sure that the subject line reads “Exam 2 Appeal”. All appeals must be received by Tuesday, December, 11th, 2012.

 Please keep in mind that you will not receive points for questions

·         that you did not bubble in on the scantron or where you bubbled in more than one answer.

·         where you misinterpreted the question or misread the question

You should always mark the best answer out of the answers provided for the question given on the exam.
