Announcements

Monday, April 18
Tonight's extra office hours will be from 6 to 8 pm in Griffin-Floyd 100.

Monday, April 11
Assignment 6 is posted. The due date is Friday, April 22. Note that this assignment will be rather different from the previous five, so be sure to read the instructions at the beginning.

Thursday, March 31
Exam 3 grades are now available. Also, notes are posted for Chapter 8, which we'll start tomorrow.

Wednesday, March 23
The formula sheet and sample questions for Exam 3 are now posted.

Tuesday, March 22
Assignment 5 is now posted. It's due when you take Exam 3 next Wednesday.

Sunday, March 13
1. Notes are posted for Chapter 7, which we'll start tomorrow.
2. If you sent me an email over spring break and I haven't answered you yet, I promise I'll get back to you tonight or tomorrow morning. (Sorry.)

Monday, February 28
Tonight's extra office hours will be from 5–7 in Griffin-Floyd 230, immediately following my regular office hour after class. I can stay a bit later than that if necessary, but we'll have to move to a smaller room at 7.

Wednesday, February 23
Forms 0, 3, and 7 of Assignment 4 contained a typo. If you have one of these forms, you should have received an email from me that explained the mistake. The assignments posted on the website are now correct for all forms.

Monday, February 21
Assignment 4 is now posted. It's due when you take Exam 2 (March 2).

Saturday, February 19
Chapter 6 notes are now available. We'll start these on Monday.

Monday, February 14
1. Exam 1 grades have been updated to reflect the question where I decided to count an additional answer choice as correct.
2. Assignment 3 is now posted. It's due Monday, February 21.
3. On Assignment 1, if you lost points on the question that asked you to identify the parameter, you may be entitled to one or two points back. See me after class or during office hours for details (bring your paper if you've already picked it up).

Thursday, February 10
1. Exam 1 grades are now available in Sakai. The raw average was a 70, which was lower than I wanted it to be, so I added 5 bonus points to everyone's score. (The score you see in Sakai already includes the 5 points.)
2. My email seems to have been acting very weird today, so if you sent me something and I didn't reply, I may not have gotten it. You might want to talk to me in person tomorrow if it's something important.

Tuesday, February 8
1. My extra office hours tonight will be from 6:15–8:30 in Griffin-Floyd 100 (the big classroom downstairs).
2. Also, as announced in class, we didn't get to the very last page of Chapter 4, so that material won't be covered on the exam. This means that questions like 117 and 123 from the sample questions, where you're asked to make a decision about what type of method to use, would be illegal for me to ask. (However, questions like 113, 120, 126, 128, and 131, which only ask about general properties, advantages, and disadvantages of nonparametric tests, would certainly still be legal.)

Thursday, February 3
Sample questions and the formula sheet for Exam 1 are now posted. Remember that Exam 1 is Wednesday, February 9.

Tuesday, February 1
Chapter 4 notes are now posted.

Thursday, January 27
1. I posted some information about R for people who are interested. Click the R link on the right-hand side of the links above.
2. Assignment 2 is now posted. I also posted .txt files of the data for those of you that want to try it in R.

Thursday, January 20
Chapter 3 notes are posted. We'll start them in class tomorrow after we finish Chapter 2.

Sunday, January 16
Assignment 1 is posted. The due date is Wednesday, January 26.

Monday, January 10
Chapter 2, which we'll probably start before the end of class Wednesday, is now posted.

Friday, January 7
If you missed the first day of class, be sure to look over the syllabus.
