Unless otherwise stated, all readings and suggested homework exercises are from the course textbook: Richard L. Scheaffer & Linda J. Young, Introduction to Probability and Its Applications, 3rd Edition, Cengage. Read the first chapter of the text book on your own!

First of all please go through all the solved examples of the textbook upto whatever I've already covered & ofcourse read my notes in between the lines!!

HW 1: Exercises 2.10, 2.17, 2.18, 2.20, 2.21, 2.23, 2.35, 2.41, 2.50, 2.62, 2.68, 2.77, 2.80, 2.84, 2.88.

HW 2: Exercises 3.7, 3.17, 3.34, 3.49, 3.64, 3.76.

HW 3: Exercises 4.5, 4.6, 4.7, 4.8, 4.9, 4.13, 4.14, 4.22, 4.24, 4.31, 4.33. Quiz 2 will be on Monday, 3rd October in the last 10 minutes of the class! One problem will be randomly selected from suggested homework 3 for quiz 2. You need to show your work in details to get credits!!

HW 4: Exercises 4.27, 4.51, 4.54, 4.58, 4.60, 4.68, 4.93, 4.98, 4.100, 4.104, 4.84, 4.83, 4.79, 4.78. There will be no quiz based on this homework 4 but Exam 2 will be on next Monday, 17th October, in CLASS and all the problems from homewoks 3 & 4 are equally important along with each & every line of my notes & solved examples in the book for the preparation for Exam 2. You MUST show your work in deatils to earn credits!!! Please bring your pen/pencil, eraser & UFID in the Exam!!

HW 5: Exercises 5.5, 5.6, 5.8, 5.12, 5.14, 5.17, 5.22, 5.27, 5.39, 5.59. Quiz 3 will be on WEDNESDAY, 2nd November in the last 10 minutes of the class! One problem will be randomly selected from suggested homework 5 for quiz 3. You need to show your work in details to get credits!!

HW 6: Exercises 5.63, 5.65, 5.74, 5.85, 5.87, 5.93, 5.94, 5.105, 5.107, 5.116. There will be no quiz based on this homework 6 but Exam 3 will be on the coming Monday, 14th November, in CLASS and all the problems from homewoks 5 & 6 are equally important along with each & every line of my notes & solved examples in the book for the preparation for Exam 3. You MUST show your work in deatils to earn credits!!! Please bring your pen/pencil, eraser & UFID in the Exam!!

HW 7: Exercises 5.140, 6.1, 6.5, 6.8, 6.11, 6.21, 6.22, 6.23, 6.31, 6.34, 6.37, 6.38, 6.40, 6.49, 6.70, 6.86, 7.3, 7.9, 7.11, 7.13. There will be NO quiz based on this homework 7 but Exam 4 will be on Wednesday, 7th December, in CLASS and all the problems from homework 7 are equally important along with each & every line of my notes & solved examples in the book for the preparation for Exam 4. You MUST show your work in deatils to earn credits!!! Please bring your pen/pencil, eraser & UFID in the Exam!! The TA will hold his office hours on Wednesday, 7th December, from 10:40-11:30 AM instead of his regular office hours after the class!
