• WELCOME TO THE EXCITING WORLD OF PROBABILITY!!! Please attend the class and see my webpage regularly!! Please come to the class in time and give attention to the lecture without doing any other stuff which may hinder my teaching process (mainly chalk-n-talk) by any means. If you miss any class then it's your responsibility to take the notes with the help of any classmates but please do not come to me or to my TA for the notes. Moral of the story: Come to class everyday, listen the lectures very carefully & simultaneously take notes!!!
  • Suggested homework 1 & its final solutions have been already posted. You don't have to submit this to me but start to play with the problems as early as possible !! Quiz 1 will be on Wednesday, 7th September in the last 10 minutes of the class! One problem will be randomly selected from suggested homework 1 for quiz 1. You need to show your work in details to get credits. Since I've already given the final solutions to all the problems in HW 1 so there is no point of just writing the final answer to the quiz without the proper explanation and logic!

There will be no quiz based on this homework 2 but Exam 1 will be on coming Monday, 19th September, in CLASS and all the problems from homewoks 1 & 2 are equally important along with each & every line of my notes & solved examples in the book for the preparation for Exam 1. You MUST show your work in details to earn credits!!! Please bring your pen/pencil, eraser & UFID in the Exam!!
  • It's always better to start working on the problems much before the exam day. Please don't ask me or the TA about any technical questions on the homework/ and on my notes by e-mail as it's very difficult to answer it via e-mail. If you have any question about these matters please come to office hours & that's why everyday in a week you can come to office hours!!
  • Suggested homework 3 has been posted. Quiz 2 will be on Monday, 3rd October in the last 10 minutes of the class! One problem will be randomly selected from suggested homework 3 for quiz 2. You need to show your work in details to get credits!!
  • Exam 2 will be on next Monday, 17th October, in CLASS and all the problems from homewoks 3 & 4 are equally important along with each & every line of my notes & solved examples in the book for the preparation for Exam 2. You MUST show your work in deatils to earn credits!!! Please bring your pen/pencil, eraser & UFID in the Exam!! The TA will hold his office hour from 10:40-11:30am on this coming Monday for Exam 2 instead of his regular office hour from 1:55-2:45pm.

  • Please don't come to me or to my TA for just increasing your points that you got in any quiz or exam unless there is some counting mistake or like that. Whatever marks you got that is final & that will not be changed in any way. There is no one-liner answer of any question or problem in this course; you must show your work in details to get full credits! You are always welcome to our office hours if you want to learn from your mistakes for which you are penalized!
