The SAS/STAT User's Guide contains detailed information. Those connecting at UF can see documentation of procedures at SAS/STAT guide. There you can find all the detail you need about PROCs we use in this course, such as PROC GENMOD, PROC LOGISTIC, and PROC FREQ.
SAS is available in all the CIRCA labs, such as CSE 211. You can get SAS for your home PC with a one-year license (expiring at the end of August each year) through the Student Home-Use Program. A license costs about $50 but is free to renew for as many years as you are at UF, and apparently a certain number of licences are free every year from UF's Software Licensing Services (from the UF Bookstore on a first come first serve basis).
Dr. Laura Thompson has prepared an excellent, detailed manual (more than 250 pages!) on the use of S to conduct the analyses shown in the textbook. You can get a copy of this at Laura Thompson S manual for CDA. Thanks very much to Dr. Thompson for providing this very helpful resource.
