Xavier University, a Catholic university in the Jesuit tradition, invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science starting in August 2004.  A successful candidate will be expected to teach statistics at all undergraduate levels and provide leadership in statistics curriculum development.  Applicants should have a doctorate in statistics, mathematics, or a related discipline by August 2004.  Candidates must be committed to outstanding teaching at the undergraduate level, to scholarly activity which encourages student participation, and to service consistent with the mission of Jesuit higher education.  A complete application includes a letter of application, statements of teaching philosophy and research aspirations, a curriculum vitae, graduate transcripts, and three letters of recommendation.  These items should be sent to:
