Degree and area of specialization: Master's degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Biometry or related field.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
New graduates are encouraged to apply. Experience in the use of SAS
and SPLUS. Some experience in the use of the UINIX operating system and
the UNIX programming enviornment and tools is highly desirable. Previous
experience in biomedical research or clinical trials is highly desirable
as is experience in working with diverse databases and data structures.
Principal duties:
Provide biostatistical consulting
and collaborative support for biomedical and clinical research. The
incumbent will collaborate
with physicians and scientists on research projects under the
supervision of the faculty
statisticians. Responsibilities include study design, participation in
research grant applications,
ongoing review of data quality, implementation of data analyses,
preparation of reports and
collaboration on manuscripts. This position requires: 1) integration of
statistical data analysis/processing
and biological knowledge; and 2) skills in data summerization,
presentation, and oral and
written communication.
A period of evaluation will be required
