The candidate will support various projects in the Database Marketing and Client Analysis group in Institutional Securities Marketing. The candidate will work on projects that typically involve data access, data mining, synthesis and interpretation/presentation of business implications
Specific Responsibilities Include:
Identifying opportunities to increase client profitability and improve
client satisfaction by mining data from the firm's Marketing
Database (which is made up of various internal databases).
Employing various statistical techniques including: modeling, client profiling analysis, market segmentation, and regression analysis.
Interpreting strategic implications and results of data and business analyses.
Summarizing findings and results into Powerpoint presentations for presentation to senior management.
Supporting Senior Database Marketing and Client Analysis team members in various projects and analyses.
A Master degree in Statistics with about 1-2 year post-master
Or undergraduate degree with quantitative in nature (statistics, applied mathematics, economics, finance, etc.) with two to four years of business experience
Proficient at using tools such as Micrsoft Excel and Access to pull and integrate data from multiple databases.
Able to work comfortably in using SAS or SQL. Knowledge of Oracle and Sybase a plus. (Note: programming not required.)
Strong direct marketing orientation. Membership marketing (ie. Credit card) experience a plus.
Must be project oriented and be able to meet deadlines.
Must work well in a team-oriented environment.
Knowledge of the securities industry a plus.
Financial reporting experience a plus.
Excellent references from managers who can discuss your capabilities.
