Faculty positions (tenure-track)

Applications are invited for at least two tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor starting August
2004. Requirements include a doctoral degree in statistics or a related area of the mathematical sciences, demonstrated
success or a strong potential for research, and commitment to effective undergraduate and graduate teaching. Salary is
competitive and commensurate with qualifications. Applications from candidates with research interests in spatial statistics,
time series, computational statistics, and biostatistics are especially welcome, but candidates in any area of statistics are
encouraged to apply. The Department of Mathematics and Statistics offers a Ph.D. degree in mathematical sciences and is
highly research oriented. Many opportunities exist for interdisciplinary research or consulting in areas such as geosciences,
remote sensing, computation, sociology, and biomedical research.

Applicants should submit a letter of introduction, resume, transcripts, and a summary of research plans and teaching philosophy,
