Research Fellow in Biostatistics
The Division of Biostatistics in the University of Minnesota’s School of Public Health is seeking a Research Fellow with an M.S. or M.P.H in biostatistics, applied statistics, epidemiology, or a related field to work on a clinical trial testing an intervention intended to reduce the incidence of pre-term birth. The position is an annually renewable professional academic appointment.
The Research Fellow will work closely with clinicians, with a database developer/ administrator, and with a data entry/data quality control technician, supervised by a Ph.D. statistician. S/he will manage day-to-day operations of the study's Data Coordinating Center, including supervising randomization, data entry, and data QC (including reporting), answering questions from clinical sites about procedures, performing analyses assisted by the Ph.D. level statistician and a graduate assistant, and problem solving for study procedures. S/he will supervise study closeout and participate actively in writing papers and presentations.
The successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, data management skills, and experience with SAS. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience in clinical-trial management.
