TENURE TRACK FACULTY POSITIONS
FOR STATISTICIANS, BIOSTATISTICIANS OR EPIDEMIOLOGISTS

The Meharry Medical College/Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center Partnership (MMC/VICC Partnership) is soliciting applications for highly motivated Statisticians, Biostatisticians, and Epidemiologists who will pro-actively facilitate the growth of Partnership-based Cancer Prevention research.  These faculty positions are funded by a NCI funded U54 Cancer Center Partnership Grant to the MMC/VICC Partnership.  Successful candidates will be expected to use the rich research environment at Meharry Medical College and the Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center to develop and maintain fully funded competitive research.

Successful applicants will have a primary faculty appointment at Meharry Medical College and be eligible for a joint appointment with the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. Qualified candidates will be considered for tenure track faculty positions at an Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor levels. Applicants with doctoral degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, or other closely related fields with expertise in cancer research, history of peer-reviewed publications, evidence of commitment to cancer control and prevention research and potential to attract external funding will be strongly considered.   For a Senior position, in addition to above qualifications, evidence of independent cancer research through receipt of extramural funding is required; experience in leading multidisciplinary collaborative research is preferable.

Responsibilities include:

1) Conducting independent research on cancer disparities in underserved and socio-economically disadvantaged populations

2) Providing expert statistical support for faculty, students, residents and fellows

3) In addition to the above, the candidate for the Senior position will be responsible for supervising and mentoring Partnership Biostatisticians and Epidemiologists.
