Purpose:  Arrhythmia Management Clinical and Outcomes Research seeks a senior-level Biostatistician Manager to lead a staff of 14 statisticians in support of global clinical, outcomes and research studies.  This senior management position reports to the Vice President of AM-Clinical.

Responsibilities:  The successful candidate will mentor and lead Masters and PhD statisticians with a variety of experience in support of our clinical and research activities.  A key role for this individual will be the development and mentoring of professional staff.  This individual will provide extensive leadership and support in reviewing and establishing our methods, and in mentoring and recruiting new staff.  This individual will represent the statistical function of our department across the Medtronic businesses and with other functional areas, key physician and scientist customers, as well as international regulatory agencies.  The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and strategic planning skills along with budgeting experience.  This candidate should also possess strong statistical and management skills and be comfortable working in a fast paced environment.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  Masters in statistics and 10-15 years experience in a medical device/pharmaceutical industry clinical or medical research and previous management experience.  PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:  Advanced degree, clinical research trial experience in device or pharmaceutical industry setting and previous management and regulatory experience.
