Biostatistics Manager,


The Biostatistics Manager, Minneapolis, Minnesota, will manage the budget and operations of Medtronic Neurological, Neurostimulation, Biostatistics, which consists of biostatistics and database management. This group provides support to Neurostimulation and Neurostimulation Ventures. Summary of Major Responsibilities: The Biostatistics Manager will manage the overall effort of the clinical data management and biostatistics group to ensure quality clinical trials that meet the regulatory compliance requirements. Manage a multidisciplinary staff as well as CROs within the statistician and database group. Lead the department in promotion of quality and business process improvement activities. Oversee the biostatistics functional area, ensuring optimal study design, protocol development, analysis plans, sample size estimation and CRF design. Oversee the statistical methodology and testing, programming and statistical presentations in clinical reports and other regulatory submissions. Manage the database management functional area, overseeing the planning and acquisition of hardware and software and the development of computer systems to report and manage clinical data. Contribute to strategic planning and participate in developing an annual operating plan (AOP), for department resources, budget and capital.

Summary of Major Requirements:

The minimum requirements include a master's degree in biostatistics, biometry, or statistics or a bachelor's degree in biostatistics, biometry, or statistics and a master's degree in business administration, public health, or computer science; a minimum of three years of management and supervision; five years of experience as an applied statistician or biostatistician in clinical trails; excellent technical skills in biostatistics and data management; an understanding of regulatory and compliance guidelines for conducting clinical studies for regulated products; highly developed oral and written communication and interpersonal skills; team building and leadership skills; and ability to travel.
