COME EXPLORE THE EXCELLENT CAREER OPPORTUNITIES AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND, BALTIMORE AS A STATISTICIAN!  Our Department of Epidemiology & Preventive Medicine has a challenging opportunity available for a Statistician to conduct technical statistical research and analysis and compile and interpret statistical records and reports of departmental programs. Studies typically involve extracting healthcare utilization data from national files, to create study-specific datasets that are "rolled-up" into analytical files for health economics and health outcomes research.  Primary duties include:

· Determines methods of statistical analysis and applies techniques to determine means of measurement.
· Compiles and analyzes data, interpreting trends, fluctuations, and other changes.
· Prepares reports, graphs, charts and occasionally provides oral presentations.
· Other assignments include developing special forms and or formats for analyzing and presenting data.

Requires Master's degree in statistics and two years of statistical analysis or other business experience.  The qualified candidate will have at least 2 years of SAS experience; be comfortable working with large complex databases to create analytical data sets; good oral and written communication skills; and be comfortable working with medical investigational teams.
