Medical College of Georgia (MCG)
Department of Biostatistics

Chairperson

MCG, Georgia’s health sciences university, wishes to recruit a senior biostatistician to lead its Department of Biostatistics.  The Department offers undergraduate and graduate level service courses and will begin an MS in Biostatistics in the fall of 2005.  MCG, which has schools of allied health sciences, dentistry, graduate studies, medicine and nursing, is rapidly growing its extramural support for research.  Faculty in Biostatistics participate in teaching and research both within the department and in collaboration with other disciplines.

The ideal candidate will have an opportunity to participate in the creation of a newly developing campus-wide “Institute of Public Health.”  A doctorate in biostatistics or related discipline with Public Health experience in a secondary area such as Health Services Research, Clinical Research, or Genetic Epidemiology is highly desirable.  MDs or those with other professional doctorates with strong biostatistical training and experience will also be considered.  Salary is competitive and a generous development package is available.  Academic rank and tenure are commensurate with experience.

Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.  Letters of application, along with an up-to-date curriculum vitae should be sent to:
