Faculty position (tenure-track)

Louisiana State University in Shreveport invites applications for two tenure-track positions in Mathematics at the Assistant
Professor level starting August 2004. We seek highly qualified candidates who have demonstrated excellence in teaching
statistics/mathematics at all undergraduate levels and who can provide leadership in statistics curriculum development. In
addition to successful teaching, a research record in bioinformatics, actuarial science, or other interdisciplinary area will be
considered a plus.

Louisiana State University in Shreveport has a current enrollment of approximately 4,500 students. The mathematics
department has eight tenure-track faculty who are engaged in various areas of research including real and functional
analysis, mathematics education, and quality control. The department is investigating the development of a
statistics/actuarial science program.

Applicants should have a doctorate in statistics, mathematics, or a related discipline by August 2004. Evaluations of
