Assistant/Associate Professor (Tenure Track) Biostatistics
The Department of Preventive Medicine and Public Health is undergoing expansion and is recruiting a tenure track faculty member in biostatistics. The department recently formed the Medical Statistics and Research Design Unit (MSRDU) which consists of 5 Ph.D. statisticians, two masters level statisticians, a information specialist and data entry personnel. The department has 23 faculty members and a strong track record in assisting junior faculty engage in mentored research and obtain independent funding. Excellent collaborative research opportunities, and joint appointments, exist with the Center on Aging, the Kansas Cancer Institute, the Department of Health Policy and Management, and the Department of Dietetics and Nutrition. The University of Kansas Medical Center, a full-service, tertiary care center, is the medical training facility for the state of Kansas and provides a stimulating academic environment in Kansas City, a rapidly growing city of 1.5 million. The candidate should have a Ph.D. in Statistics/Biostatistics. The primary responsibility of this candidate will be to assist in the continued growth of the department and MSRDU with limited teaching in the medical school and the departmentís innovative and fully accredited Master of Public Health Program.
