Tenure-track position

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at James Madison University invites applications for at least
one tenure track position in statistics.  Preference will be given to candidates with teaching interests that
include introductory statistics in a laboratory-oriented environment and other courses in support of statistics
major and minor programs, including applied statistics courses.  Other priorities include consulting with
faculty and students in other disciplines and working with undergraduates in research.  Candidates should
have a Ph.D. in statistics, demonstrated ability in teaching, and demonstrated potential in scholarship.

James Madison University is a comprehensive, coeducational, state university, located in the beautiful
Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Enrollment is approximately 16000. The primary focus of the department is
undergraduate teaching, with an active research program in that context.  The department includes very active
groups in statistics, applied and computational mathematics, and pure mathematics, with opportunities for
