Tenure Track Position in Statistics

Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) invites
applications for a tenure track position in Statistics in the Department
of Mathematical Sciences beginning in August 2003.

Located in the heart of Indianapolis, IUPUI is an urban
doctoral/research intensive university with 29,000 students. The
Department of Mathematical Sciences offers programs of study leading to
Purdue University B.S, M.S., and Ph.D. degrees, including an M.S. in
Applied Statistics and a B.S. in Mathematics with Actuarial Science
concentration.  There are currently 32 faculty in the Department,
including six statisticians, providing an excellent environment for
collaborative and interdisciplinary research.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Statistics or related area and are
expected to have developed or be able to develop a significant research
program in applied or/and mathematical statistics.  A strong commitment
to quality undergraduate and graduate teaching is also required.  Rank
and salary will be commensurate with qualifications.  The university

vitae, statements on research and teaching philosophy, and four letters
of recommendation, one of which must address the candidate's teaching
ability and experience.
