Postdoctoral Research Associate Positions

Applications are invited for one or more postdoctoral research associate positions in the Department of Statistics & the Interdisciplinary Research Institute for Survey Science (IRISS), with appointment terms of 1-3 years.

The postdoctoral appointments involve collaboration with faculty and staff in research, consulting and projects related to survey statistics. Candidates are expected to conduct collaborative research for several survey projects that include sampling design and survey data analysis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone considering career in methodological research in survey statistics. Teaching opportunities are also available if desired.

For applicants who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents, the appointment is available as a Fellow in the NSF-sponsored Vertical Integration of Research and Education (VIGRE) program. The goal of this program is to provide exposure to activities that may prepare graduate students and postdoctoral fellows for an academic career in statistics or related fields.

Postdoctoral research associate applicants should have completed a Ph.D. in statistics, mathematics or in an applied science related to survey statistics at the start of appointment. Salary is competitive; fringe benefits are also available.
