The Iowa State University
Statistics Department

tenure-track faculty positions

The Iowa State University Statistics Department invites applications for
several open rank/open area tenure-track faculty positions.  Ph.D. in
statistics or a closely related field required.  Academic rank will be
offered based on potential for or record of genuine research excellence and
teaching in statistics.  An appointment to the Baker Chair in Biological
Statistics ($1.5M endowment) is possible for a distinguished senior
candidate with interests in biological applications.  Review of
applications will begin December 6 and continue until the positions are filled.

The Department of Statistics has very large and effective M.S. and Ph.D.
programs and is in its second year of an NSF VIGRE grant.  These positions
offer immediate opportunities for graduate student guidance and graduate
level teaching.

The Department has strong links with other University departments and
centers, and there are opportunities for collaboration with faculty in
biology, agriculture, engineering, social sciences, education, and physical
science.  One of the distinctive features of the Ph.D. program is the large
number of co-majors (with fields of application) graduated.

Completed applications for Assistant Professor candidates should include a
letter of application, curriculum vita, transcripts, teaching and research
statements, and a dissertation abstract.  Additionally, the candidate
should arrange for three letters of recommendation.  Candidates for
Associate and Full Professorships should send a letter of application,
curriculum vita, and full contact information for three references.
