assistant professor (tenure-track)
The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Georgia Southern
invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level, starting
August 1, 2003. A Ph.D. in statistics is required by the starting date. Applicants must
demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching as well as a potential for scholarly
activity. Command of written and spoken English is required. Preference will be given to
applicants whose specialties include applied statistics, mathematical statistics or applied
probability, or other specialties that complement existing areas of research by

work with diverse populations preferred.
Duties include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in mathematics,
and supervising research projects for masterís degree candidates whose emphasis is statistics.
