The department of Epidemiology and Social Medicine (DESM) at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine (AECOM) invites applications for a senior biostatistician to head a new Biostatistics Division.  AECOM is a leading research institution with a strong commitment to excellence in research.  The College has NIH-funded centers in cancer, diabetes, liver disease, sickle cell disease, and general clinical research.  The DESM is well recognized for its multi-disciplinary programs in epidemiologic, prevention, and health services research and will undergo considerable expansion of its faculty base over the next few years.

The role of the new division will be to develop research programs in statistical methodology, to collaborate in epidemiologic and clinical studies, and to teach medical and graduate students.  This position will provide opportunities for diverse research experiences in a highly collegial environment.

The successful candidate will have a doctorate in Biostatistics or equivalent, strong verbal and written communication skills, relevant research and teaching experience, a record of peer-reviewed substantive and methodological publications, and demonstrated leadership.
