Part-time Statistician Position Available
 

Education Development Center, Inc. (EDC), a nonprofit public health and
education research and development organization located in Newton, MA, is
seeking a part-time statistician to conduct analyses as part of a national,
multi-site study to test the effectiveness of a social norms marketing
campaign in reducing high-risk drinking at the college level. This person
will assist with analysis of longitudinal data from a survey of
alcohol-related norms, attitudes, and behaviors of college students and
preparation of journal articles for publication.

This is an exciting opportunity for a person with a statistics and public
health background who wants to use his/her skills to analyze a complex data
set and assist in the production of publishable journal articles.

Qualifications
Must have extensive statistics experience at the masters or Ph.D. level
with strong knowledge of SPSS and SAS. Must have experience in longitudinal
data analysis with complex samples and be proficient in performing
multivariate regression analyses. Experience with statistical weighting is
also required. The ideal candidate will also have strong writing skills,
experience publishing in peer-reviewed journals, and a background in social
science/public health and program evaluation.

Approximately 8-12 hours/week for 3-4 months, starting immediately.
Flexible hours. Local candidates who can attend meetings in Newton, MA are
preferred.

Salary commensurate with experience.
