An Assistant Professorship of Community Health, in Biostatistics, is available in the Department of Community Health, Brown Medical School. The position will be based at the Center for Statistical Sciences. This renewable term appointment could begin as early as Spring 2002 and will be made for an initial 3-year period. Candidates should have completed all requirements for a doctorate in Biostatistics or Statistics by the beginning of their appointment. Strong potential for methodologic research in Biostatistics and for collaborative research in the biomedical sciences, excellent oral and written communication skills and teaching ability are essential. The new faculty member will be expected to develop an independent research program in biostatistical methodology, to become involved in collaborative research at the Center, and to teach and advise students in the graduate programs of the Department of Community Health. Postdoctoral training and work experience, as well as experience in biostatistical methodology for diagnostic test evaluation would be preferred.
