Department Chair in Statistics
The Department of Statistics at Case Western Reserve University invites applications for a dynamic leader to serve as Department Chair starting August, 2003. The position requires the Ph.D. in Statistics or equivalent and academic credentials consistent with a tenured appointment as professor at a research university. Candidates should have a strong record of research and grant acquisitions and proven leadership and interpersonal skills. Commitment to promote department excellence in research, teaching and service, and enthusiasm for interdisciplinary work are essential.
Current faculty research includes statistical and scientific computing, semi and nonparametric inference, linear models, function estimation, Bayesian design and inference, sample surveys, design of experiments, mixture problems, spatial statistics, stochastic models, random dynamical systems and chaotic behavior, nonlinear time series, modern data analysis, and other statistical methodological research and applications. Most faculty also collaborate with faculty from other disciplines, currently with CWRU faculty in biomedical, electrical, computer and chemical engineering, materials science, astronomy, dental school, medical school and the Ireland Cancer Center.
