Assistant Professor (tenure-track)

The Bucknell University Mathematics Department invites applications for an entry level, tenure-track assistant
professor in statistics, beginning August 2004. Qualifications for the position include a Ph.D. in statistics, strong
commitment to teaching, and high potential for research.

Bucknell is a private, highly selective, primarily undergraduate university of about 3500 students. Its broad curriculum
in the liberal arts and sciences is complemented by strong professional programs in engineering, education, music,
and management.  The Mathematics Department already includes three statisticians among its 18 full-time staff.
Upper level statistics courses are offered for students seeking either a mathematics major with a concentration in
statistics or students seeking a minor.  The university is situated in the picturesque and historic town of Lewisburg, on
the bank of the Susquehanna River in central Pennsylvania.
