Assistant Professor (Research)

The Center for Clinical Trials and Evidence-based Healthcare at Brown University Medical School is seeking a full time epidemiologist or biostatistian for a non-tenure track faculty position in the Department of Community Health.

The applicant selected will direct a major multicenter randomized clinical trial in women’s health.  The person holding this position will have opportunities to publish as a primary author, apply for new funding initiatives, and develop an independent research program.

The successful candidate will join a growing and dynamic Program in Public Health at Brown, which involves faculty in epidemiology, health services research, biostatstics, behavioral health, and primary care research.  The Program currently offers a PhD and MS in epidemiology and biostatstics, and an MPH. In addition, faculty teach and oversee honors theses in the Department of Community Health undergraduate concentration. The successful candidate will have the option of teaching in the PhD, MPH, and undergraduate programs, but this is not required.

Minimum qualifications:
An earned PhD in epidemiology or biostatistics or equivalent degree
Experience with all aspects of research program coordination, including quality assurance and control processes
Strong oral and written communication skills

Preferred qualifications:
Training and/or experience demonstrating mastery of skills required to coordinate all aspects of multicenter trials
Strong leadership and administrative skills
Demonstrated ability to work on collaborative research projects

Faculty appointment will be at a non-tenure track level. The initial contract is for a 3-year term and is renewable.

Cochrane Collaboration

The Center for Clinical Trials and Evidence-based Healthcare at Brown University Medical School is seeking a full time epidemiologist or biostatistian for a non-tenure track faculty position in the Department of Community Health.

The applicant selected will direct a major academic project related to the international Cochrane Collaboration and the Cochrane Eyes and Vision Review Group and will oversee development of related educational programs.  The person holding this position will have opportunities to publish as a primary author, apply for new funding initiatives, and develop an independent research program.

The successful candidate will join a growing and dynamic Program in Public Health at Brown, which involves faculty in epidemiology, health services research, biostatstics, behavioral health, and primary care research.  The Program currently offers a PhD and MS in epidemiology and biostatstics, and an MPH. In addition, faculty teach and oversee honors theses in the Department of Community Health undergraduate concentration.
