Research Biostatistican (4 positions)

Exciting opportunities are immediately available for Research Biostatisticians to join the Clinical Biostatistics team in our Hopewell, NJ facility.

In this role, you will provide extensive biostatistical support in the planning, analysis and preparation of reports for clinical studies and for registering drugs in the U.S. and internationally. Work with senior staff members and clinical monitors in the design and conduct of clinical studies and evaluation. Interpret and prepare study results such that results can be presented in internal reports as well as in submission to the FDA and other regulatory agencies. Develop statistical programs as necessary to perform analysis, prepare data displays, verify data accuracy and validity.  Requirements for the position include a Ph.D. in Biostatistics or Statistics with experience and/or knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry or a Masters with industry experience. Individuals must have demonstrated sound knowledge of major statistical software packages, SAS and Splus, and the ability to integrate statistical and biomedical concepts. Experience must include consulting with research personnel, including clinical researchers and authorship on formal reports, excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, are essential.

Develop statistical programs as necessary to perform analysis, prepare data displays, and verify data accuracy and validity.

The primary focus of this position will be to provide statistical expertise and act as project statistician in clinical trials for Experimental Medicine and Pharmacogenomics and in other studies with Pharmacogenomics, Proteomics, Metabonomics and Systems Biology in Clinical Discovery.  Work will involve high level statistical collaboration in the form of study design, statistical analysis and data mining, clinical report writing, publication, developing in-house analysis tools and methods and providing seminars on statistical concepts and methodology.  The requirements for this position include a Ph.D. in Statistics, Biostatistics or Biomathematics or Ph.D. in Biology/Genetics/Population Genetics with concentration in statistics.  Candidates should have comprehensive knowledge of statistical theory and methods, genetics and population genetics with training and/or experience in statistical genetics.  Basic understanding of statistical applications in genetics, transcriptional profiling, proteomics, metabonomics and genetic epidemiology is required.  Familiarity with standard and evolving theory and methods in statistical genetics to understand the relationships between genetic variation and phenotypic variation and disease endpoints at the population and family level is essential.  Knowledge of and familiarity with complex adaptive systems theory, statistical genetics software and statistical analysis computer packages (SAS, SPlus) are desirable.  Knowledge of clinical trials would be a plus.  A self-starter thinking outside the box with collaborative experience and strong oral and written communication skills is essential.
