Behavioral Health Research Center of the Southwest (BHRCS) a private, non-profit center located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is seeking a highly motivated and well-trained Statistician/Scientist to provide leadership in the development of statistical aspects of research studies. This position is supported with a five-year NIH grant investigating long-term behavior change.
Assist with proposal development and write the statistical analysis/methodology section of RFPs. Work with, direct, mentor and develop other statisticians and support staff. Participate in writing manuscripts for publication. Ensure the accuracy and validity of analyzed data. Detect, troubleshoot, and resolve statistical issues in a time-critical manner. Prepare programming specifications and/or program statistical modules in SAS for automation of standard statistics.
PhD in statistics or related field with graduate training in statistical methods and minimum 5 years job-related experience, or, MS with 10+ years experience, preferably with NIH-funded studies. Demonstrated experience in the design and conduct of research studies. Record of peer-reviewed publications strongly desired. Outstanding inter-personal skills and ability to communicate effectively with scientists and clinicians in various fields of study. Excellent writing skills and professional orientation toward service and scientific collaboration. Proven initiative, leadership and team-building skills. Proficiency with SAS and other statistical software.
Preferred Education: Doctorate
