Assistant Professor (Tenure Track)
The University of Arkansas at Little Rock invites applications for a tenure track position at the assistant professor level in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics commencing August 15, 2005.
All candidates must have a Ph.D. in statistics. Candidates must show strong research potential, a proven commitment to excellence in teaching and should expect to participate in cross-disciplinary graduate and undergraduate programs. Candidates must have good verbal and written communication skills.
The Strategic Plan of the College of Science and Mathematics is explicit in its strong commitment to expanding the research experience for both faculty and students. The successful candidate for this position will play a key role in seeking external funding for initiatives in statistics, developing the undergraduate and graduate curriculum in statistics and forming partnerships with university and community researchers.
Salary and rank are competitive and will be commensurate with experience and credentials.
The University of Arkansas at Little Rock is a metropolitan institution located in the population and cultural center of Arkansas. The current enrollment is about 12,000 students.
