One Tenure-Track Assistant Professorship and one or more One-Year Visiting Positions.

The Department of Statistics at the University of Virginia is a small but very active group. The program offers M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Statistics as well as a joint Ph.D. degree with the Division of Biostatistics (within the Medical School). The department has the following openings:

* One Tenure-Track Assistant Professorship in Statistics. The position will begin in the Fall, 2001. No one area of research is being emphasized over any other.

* One or more One-Year Visiting Positions.

Excellent computing and library facilities are available in the Department. Applications from faculty with diverse backgrounds are strongly encouraged. A doctoral degree, or the completion of all doctoral degree requirements prior to arrival is a requirement. There is no deadline for application, but screening will begin January 15, 2001 and continue until the positions are filled.
