Assistant Professor of Statistics

The University of Tennessee Department of Statistics is recruiting for an Assistant Professor of Statistics. This position will begin August 1, 2001. Duties will include teaching four courses per year, and active programs of research/scholarship and service to the profession and the University. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Statistics or a related field, as well as an active program of scholarship in data mining methodology and its applications. This candidate will also have excellent communication skills, and an equal comfort in working with students, with faculty colleagues in other business disciplines, and with users of statistical methods in business. The commitment to working with colleagues in other business disciplines will ideally be documented by the candidate writing or having completed a dissertation that involved collaboration across business disciplines, or by a track record of joint research or teaching with colleagues in other business disciplines. Salary will be competitive.
