Biostatistician
Due to recent growth in research in the areas of Biostatistics and Medical
Informatics, the Division of Gerontology at the University of Maryland,
Baltimore seeks an individual to perform biostatistical analyses using
SAS. Additionally, the incumbent will perform data quality assurance and
validation activities, develop and test computer programs to facilitate
storage, reporting, and analysis of research data. You will supervise staff
and provide training in use of new and existing data applications, and
provide analytical support in the development of research grant applications.
The ability to consult with staff on issues relating to research data from
multiple research projects, and to perform related tasks is required. Requires
Masters degree in Statistics/Biostatistics and two years of statistical
analysis or other business experience. The ideal candidate will have advanced
training or degree in social or clinical science research with demonstrated
emphasis in data analytical skills and data management and three years
of experience as a research analyst and biostatistician with documented
experience in SAS and relational database management systems. Knowledge
of IBM and Macintosh computers required. Network and database servers,
and scanning equipment knowledge desirable. Excellent writing, oral, interpersonal
and teaching skills necessary.
This position offers a starting salary of $42,000 - $52,941 plus excellent
benefits including a 40-day annual leave package and tuition remission
