ECOLOGICAL STATISTICIAN

The University of Georgia's Savannah River Ecology Laboratory (SREL) is seeking a broadly trained statistician with an interest in ecological applications. Ph.D. in statistics or related area is required; expertise in spatial statistics for GIS applications would be preferred. Responsibilities will be divided between research (~ 60%) and consulting on research design and statistical analyses (~ 40%). The successful candidate will be expected to establish an independent research program, develop interactions with other SREL faculty, and obtain external funding. Located on the Department of Energy's Savannah River Site near Aiken, SC, SREL conducts research on ecology, toxicology, environmental chemistry, radioecology, and the effects of human activities on the ecosystem: see http://www.uga.edu/srel/. Appointment will be at the rank of Assistant or Associate Research Professor at the University of Georgia; a tenure track appointment with an academic unit may be negotiable.
