The Biometrics Division of the Cancer Institute of New Jersey and School of Public Health, University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in New Brunswick/Piscataway campus, New Jersey is seeking for applications for a faculty Biostatistician starting July 1, 2001.
Position: Ph.D. Biostatistician at The Cancer Institute of New Jersey with faculty appointment at the School of Public Health, University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Preference will be given to appointments at the Assistant Professor level, although applications from more senior biometricians also will be considered.
Job Description: Biometrics is an essential part of the nucleus of the bioinformatics research at the CINJ, UMDNJ. Biostatisticians with qualified background and skills are needed to collaborate with biomedical investigators for a wide range of important problems resulting from new experimental paradigms, including microarray and proteomics applications. Specificallly, the faculty person will:
Ph.D. in statistics or biostatistics, or equivalent; Strong training in multivariate statistics methods and bio-computing necessary, and knowledge in modern molecular biology very desirable; Good oral and writing communication skills; Interested in pursuing career in academic research, teaching, and consulting environment.
The UMDNJ campuses offer modern computer and research facilities to support research in genomics, proteomics, microarray chip technologies, and related areas. Cooperative educational and research programs exists with neighboring academic institutions and affiliated Centers of Excellence.
