Bristol-Myers Squibb currently has an opening for a statistician in Nonclinical Biostatistics. The position is located in Hopewell, NJ.
The primary focus of this job is to provide statistical expertise and collaborate with scientists in drug discovery and development. Work will involve high level statistical consulting involving pattern recognition in high dimensional data, experimental design, statistical analysis, programming of new statistical methodologies, as well as providing instruction and seminars on statistical methodology. Additionally, the incumbents will help to develop and implement strategies to broaden the scope of statistics and institute statistical thinking across the Research Institute.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Statistics/Biostatistics, a strong background in multivariate statistics, and comprehensive knowledge of general statistical methods and theory. Knowledge and collaborative experience in areas of experimental design and statistical computing are desirable. Candidates must be proficient in using SAS, S-Plus or related software packages and have strong technical, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Some knowledge of the R&D process in pharmaceutical industry is desirable, but not required.
