STATISTICS, BIOINFORMATICS & GENOME TECHNOLOGY
The Institute of Statistics & Decision Sciences has postdoctoral and visiting junior faculty positions available for individuals interested in development of statistical methods in bioinformatics.
Currently, we seek to appoint one or more individuals to work on statistical modelling, computation and data analysis in gene and protein expression studies. A suitable applicant will have a PhD in statistics, biostatistics or a related discipline, experience and interests in biomedical data analysis and computation, and longer term interests in research in bioinformatics.
Specific projects include several studies arising from a collaborative research program in cancer genomics. Postdoctoral appointees will join an international research group and focus on research in the development, refinement and implementation of statistical methods of gene expression analysis in cancer studies. Appointees will also have opportunities for continuing their personal methodological research in statistics, for involvement in other related genomic projects at Duke, and for broader interactions in Duke bioinformatics and genome technology programs.
