This position will determine initial approaches and solutions to statistical/mathematical problems and to the design of automated statistical systems. Will act as a statistical consultant to colleagues in biology, chemistry and biochemistry, providing experimental design, analysis, and interpretation of results for studies. Will apply problem solving and methods. This person will perform statistical analysis of experimental data, prepare reports, and give guidance to scientists in the correct interpretation of results. Will work with researchers and SAS programmers to design high quality automated statistical analysis systems.

REQUIREMENTS: Ph.D. or equivalent in Biostatistics, Statistics or Biomathematics with 0-3 years relevant experience or MS/MA or equivalent with 3-5 years relevant experience. Must possess a broad knowledge of statistical/mathematical theory and know how to apply these techniques to the day-to-day research of biological laboratory. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills a must. Experience in using SAS/Stat is required. Knowledge of the following areas is essential: experimental design, regression analysis, linear and nonlinear models, nonparametric analysis, multivariate analysis and sampling techniques. Experience in using S-plus is preferred.
