Assistant Professor in Statistics

The Ohio State University at Newark is seeking an Assistant Professor in Statistics for Autumn Quarter 2001.

Duties: Teaching load averages two introductory courses per quarter; class sizes are generally between 15 and 35; research area may be in any aspect of Statistical Methodology, including Statistical Education. The Department of Statistics provides an additional office on the Columbus campus to encourage collaborative research. Arrangements may also be made to teach a special topics graduate course at the Columbus campus. Appropriate campus, departmental and university service is expected, including statistical consultations with faculty at the Newark campus.

Qualifications: Ph.D. in Statistics supported by strong recommendations for both teaching and research. All areas of specialization will be considered, but preference will be given to those whose area is most compatible with ongoing research at the Columbus campus (see http://stat.ohio-state.edu). Teaching experience at the college or university level is preferred.

Salary: $40,000 - $45,000/year

Terms: Full-time, tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level with a comprehensive co-pay benefit package; position starts Autumn quarter 2001.
