Tenure-track position at the rank of assistant or associate professor
Applications are invited for at least one tenure-track position at the
rank of assistant or associate professor starting Fall 2001. Requirements
include a doctoral degree in an area of mathematics or statistics, demonstrated
success or a strong potential for research, and a commitment to effective
undergraduate and graduate teaching. Preference will be given to candidates
with research interests in numerical analysis, statistics, and applied
or applicable analysis, but candidates in any area of mathematical sciences
are encouraged to apply. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications.
The department is strongly research oriented. It is housed in the College
of Arts and Sciences and offers the Ph.D. degree in mathematical sciences.
Opportunities exist for applicants with an interest in interdisciplinary
