The ability to report research results and to communicate effectively with the general public, public policy makers and test and other product developers is important for these positions.
These positions require the ability to work in teams and to contribute to the planning for and the development of new products and services to education and assessment, co-directing analyses, and psychometric or evaluation consulting on a broad range of problems throughout the organization as well as maintaining an active program of basic and/or applied research.
To be appointed at the Research Scientist level also requires a minimum of three years of progressively independent research experience and evidence of scholarly work such as published research in the standard psychometric, educational research and program evaluation journals. Higher level appointments are available when background and experience justify them.
