DEPARTMENT OF BIOSTATISTICS & BIOINFORMATICS
Duke University Medical Center is seeking candidates for the position of Chair of the Department of Biostatistics & Bioinformatics. This individual will be responsible for building and leading this new department, the faculty of which currently includes 25 biostatisticians, creating strong research and educational programs in both disciplines, and developing collaborative efforts with other academic units at Duke.
The Chair for the Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics must be a recognized leader in biostatistics who will establish a departmental environment that fosters the wide range of research activities of the faculty and promotes the integration of the research and educational programs in these two disciplines with other research and educational programs throughout the Medical Center and University.
Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in statistics or biostatistics, a distinguished record of scholarship, administrative experience in an academic environment, and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a university and academic medical center and with external constituencies.
