Candidates must have a Ph.D. in statistics (by Sept 2001), demonstrated research ability, potential for excellence in teaching, and commitment to applied work. Duties include research and teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. All areas of statistics will be considered.
Current faculty research includes statistical computing, semi and nonparametric inference, linear models, Bayesian design and inference, sample surveys, design of experiments, stochastic processes, dynamical systems and chaotic behavior, modern data analysis, and other statistical methodological research and applications. Most faculty also collaborate with faculty from other disciplines, currently with CWRU faculty in biomedical and chemical engineering, astronomy, and the Ireland Cancer Center.
