Master's level Biostatistician
The Department of Behavioral Science at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson
Cancer Center is seeking a Master's level biostatistician. The successful
candidate will join a growing team of biostatisticians, quantitative psychologists,
data managers and programmers in the Section of Behavioral Statistics on
a wide variety of behavioral science research projects related to cancer
prevention. Areas of research include smoking prevention and cessation,
cancer screening, quality of life of cancer survivors, stress management
and immune function, and physical activity. Our innovative interventions
utilize state-of-the-art technology including CD-ROMs, internet and hand-held
computers. We are looking for individuals with interests in longitudinal
data analysis, correlated data, measurement error, missing data and scale
development. Salary is competitive with industry and is commensurate with
experience. Requirements include a Master's degree in biostatistics, quantitative
psychology, or related field and experience in statistical analysis, preferably
in an academic and/or biomedical environment. Proficiency in SAS or similar
packages is required. Knowledge of behavioral science and medical terminology,
particularly oncology, would be a plus.
