One and possibly two Assistant or Associate Professor (Research) positions in Biostatistics, are available in the Department of Community Health, Brown Medical School. The positions will be based at the Center for Statistical Sciences. These appointments are on the research track, could begin as early as Spring 2002, and will be made for an initial 3-year period. Research track appointments are renewable based on performance and availability of funds. Candidates should have completed all requirements for a doctorate in Biostatistics or Statistics by the beginning of their appointment. Strong potential for methodologic research in Biostatistics and for collaborative research in the biomedical sciences, excellent oral and written communication skills required. The new faculty will be expected to develop an independent research program in biostatistical methodology and to become involved in collaborative research at the Center and the Medical School. The new faculty will also have the opportunity to teach Biostatistics and advise graduate students. Postdoctoral training and work experience would be preferred for all candidates. Several years of work experience and productivity and a strong track record in research are required for candidates for the rank of Associate Professor.
